Madura is a place where the thickness of traditions and culture is still very well preserved. Likewise with the popular madura cuisine which has a special meaning. Discussing about madura cuisine, we know a lot of cuisine in this place. Cuisine is no less competitive with other regions of East Java. Even Madura is one of the striking areas in East Java because of their local nature. However we do not realize that the uniqueness of this cuisine is not owned by any region. The one we call with tajin mera.
Tajin mera is a porridge made up of white, red, green beans and pearls porridge. The white porridge that we often call the marrow porridge made of rice flour, coconut milk, salt, and pandan leaves do not forget to give it an aromatic texture. The red porridge comes with the same ingredients as the white porridge, which is a slight difference when added with brown sugar to make it red. There's an green beans porridge that same with the ingredients of red porridge. Also red sticky rice porridge and pearl porridge.
This is a tradition that has passed down for generations, and even if you ask any of the people, they just say, "I don't know when there was this tradition, because there was a tradition that started at the beginning." This tradition is held once a year. And every home or family, should do this tradition. So in that area, every month there's a house that represents. This tradition involves dividing tajin mera surrender to all citizens or homes in the area without exception. It's almost like they do alm for their sustenance.
The point of this tajin division means something to every citizen, or the wisdom we say. They have a strong affinity for community relations, can forget a strong bond. It creates a sense of security, and peace in the region.
