Rujak Siwil, a native culinary of Socah District,
Bangkalan. This snack is in the form of Siwil Goreng, a kind of cireng (aci
Goreng, for snacks in Java). Warung Siwil Bu Fat is already familiar to
students of Trunojoyo University, Madura, where it is located on Pesisir
Timur Kejawan street, Kamal, which starts to open from 4 pm to 10 pm. He also opened a
branch on Banyu Ajuh street, near the Kamal gas station.
Mrs. Fat said that there were two kinds of Siwil,
"there were fried and boiled Siwil. The fried Siwil has a slightly
flattened semi-circular shape, while the Siwil has a long, oval-like boil. Not
only fried and boiled siwil, but here are also ball tofu, ball mini quail, and
also Es Campur, "Fat said, the owner of Warung Siwil Bu Fat.
This one is actually from Socah which is famous for
its shrimp crackers and shrimp paste. Then it occurred by the people to try to
make snacks made from shrimp as well. From there, the food that is familiarly
called Siwil emerged and spread in several places at Bangkalan regency.
Siwil is served by cutting into small pieces with
scissors before being doused with petis seasoning. Siwil is very suitable to be
eaten in a state that is still warm coupled with petis seasoning. For the bumbu petis
itself is made from a mixture of fish paste, sliced tomatoes and crushed
chili. "There are two kinds of regional spices, there are peanut spices
and petis seasonings, adjusted to the demands and tastes of each," Mrs. Fat
added.
